The Fox C-6 School District is proud of the many support staff employees who play critical roles in developing and supporting a nurturing school climate.  As a way to honor outstanding support employees, the District has developed a Support Staff of the Year recognition program. All Support Staff awardees are dynamic support employees who are dedicated to supporting and improving the culture, climate, and lives of students and their communities through their work.  Thank you for your assistance in recognizing and honoring our many outstanding support staff employees.   

We will have 20 individuals who are recognized as a building/department support staff of the year – 17 school buildings, ECSE/PAT, Transportation, and District Support.  See categories below for a breakdown of which employee types are included in which group.  After each building/department group has selected and recognized their Support Staff of the Year honoree according to the process and deadlines described below, one of those individuals will be selected to be honored as the District Support Staff of the Year. 

Teachers, parents, community members, and students may nominate teachers for this award. Candidates should have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues. They should inspire a positive school climate for students of all backgrounds and learning abilities. To be eligible for Support Staff of the Year, an employee must have worked in the District for at least one year, is not an administrator or staff member in a certified role, and not have been the Building/Department Staff Member of the Year within the past two years.

The deadline for submitting nominations is December 13, 2024. The Building/Department Support Staff of the Year will be selected by a committee, who will use a rubric to score candidates. In the event of a tie, the individual with more seniority in the building will be declared the winner. If both teachers have the same years of service at the Fox C-6 School District, the number of nomination each teacher received will be used to determine the winner. If seniority and then number of nominations each teacher received are the same, the principal can make the determination of who to award building Support Staff of the Year.
